The winningest teams in history took the spotlight to end the NBA’s weekend slate, with the Boston Celtics giving the rival Los Angeles Lakers an unintentional assist in the standings.

The Celtics started the gameday but taking down the Denver Nuggets, leaving the West’s no. 2 seed for the taking.

The Lakers took the chance, ending the night with a win over the Los Angeles Clippers as the 17-time champions continue to make their surge.


Boston Celtics (43-18) def. Denver Nuggets (39-22), 110-103: Jaylen Brown goes for 22 points and eight assists as the Celtics win the duel of the last two NBA champions.



Oklahoma City Thunder (49-11) def. San Antonio Spurs (25-34), 146-132: Jalen Williams fires 41 points as the Thunder maintain their grip on the West’s no. 1 seed.



Cleveland Cavaliers (50-10) def. Portland Trail Blazers (27-34) in OT, 133-129: De’Andre Hunter pours 32 and the Cavaliers survive Portland to keep the NBA’s best record.



Indiana Pacers (34-25) def. Chicago Bulls (24-37), 127-112: Tyrees Haliburton drops 17 points and 12 assists as the Pacers take the win over the Bulls.



Toronto Raptors (19-42) def. Orlando Magic (29-33), 104-102: RJ Barrett with a nice 22-5-5 line as the Raptors win a close one over the Magic.



New York Knicks (40-20) def. Miami Heat (28-31) in OT, 116-112: Jalen Brunson and the Knicks come back from 19 down to stun the Heat in overtime.



New Orleans Pelicans (17-44) def. Utah Jazz (15-45), 128-121: 26 points for Kelly Olynyk as the Pelicans escape the Jazz.



Minnesota Timberwolves (33-29) def. Phoenix Suns (28-33), 116-98: Anthony Edwards returns with 44 points as the Wolves take down the Suns.



Los Angeles Lakers (38-21) def. Los Angeles Clippers (32-28): Luka Doncic and the Lakers win their 6th straight game and are now the no. 2 seed in the West.
