Dwight Ramos stays hot to pace Hokkaido in third-straight win in Japan B.LEAGUE

Dwight Ramos followed up his career-high performance in the B.LEAGUE with an efficient outing in Levanga Hokkaido’s third straight win, helping his team beat the Sendai 89ers, 88-73, in Wednesday action at Xebio Arena.

Ramos, who had a 30-point game the last time out, scored a team-high 24 points on 6-of-11 shooting to pace Hokkaido against the home team. He was one of five players in double digit scoring for Levanga.

His 24 points which also came along with eight rebounds, one assist, and one steal, backstopped the double-double from Thomas Welsh, who finished with 18 points and 17 markers.

Hokkaido ran away with the victory with a fourth canto where they outscored Sendai, 22-8.

Levanga improved to 16-26 for the year.

 

 

Elsewhere, Bobby Ray Parks had nine points in Osaka Evessa’s bounce back win over B.LEAGUE and EASL champion Hiroshima Dragonflies, 93-80.

Though dwindling in their playoff bid for this season, the Evessa are winners of three of their last four games.

Against Hiroshima, Parks also had five rebounds, and three assists to contribute to Osaka’s 22nd win of the season against 20 losses, placing them 3rd in the Western Conference.

AJ Edu, for his part, had six points and four boards in the Nagasaki Velca’s win over the Koshigaya Alphas, 88-70, to push their win streak to four games and they are now 20-22 for the season.

Meanwhile, Matthew Wright’s 27 points were not enough as the Kawasaki Brave Thunders fell at the hands of the league-leading San-En NeoPhoenix, 110-98.

Wright hit five triples en route to a 9-of-14 shooting clip from the field as he also had five rebounds and three assists.

Kawasaki has lost of three straight games and is 13-29 this season.

In the other game, expectant dad Kiefer Ravena had 15 points and eight assists in an 80-71 loss to the Alvark Tokyo, which put the Yokohama B-Corsairs at 17-25 for the year.
