Hockey fans do not seem to be getting enough of Jason Robertson, with some already labeling him as the best player in the NHL. But perhaps his team, the Dallas Stars, said it best, “It's Robo's world, we're just living in it.”
Filipino-American Jason Robertson has been cementing himself as one of the top stars in the NHL. The 23-year-old hockey player was born in California. He gets his Filipino descent from his mother who was born in the Philippines, while his father is from Scotland.
Jason is not the first player with Filipino roots to play in the NHL. That title belongs to Matt Dumba of the Minnesota Wild. Jason’s brother, Nicholas was also drafted in 2019.
But given his success for the past 3 years, Jason might just be the most successful among them.
Drafted 39th overall in 2017 by the Dallas Stars, Robertson has been making a name for himself in his team and in the league since he stepped foot inside the rink.
Now into his third year in the NHL, Robertson currently sits second with 39 points in 24 games while also being first in goals with 22. Add to that his crazy run in November when he scored the most points and goals in the league, nabbing the NHL’s First Star of the Month award.
The sky is the limit for Jason as he looks bent on breaking more records in the future.
