ROS fans are excited about the signing of Belo.
Mac Belo is now officially a Rain or Shine Elasto Painter.
In their social media pages, ROS announced that Belo signed a one-year deal with the team after negotiations.
Belo was acquired by Rain or Shine through a trade with the Meralco Bolts for big man Norbert Torres.
The 6-foot-4 forward was a former top-three pick of the 2016 PBA Special Draft. However, injuries early in his career hampered his development.
Under the Elasto Painters, Belo is expected to be given the opportunity to reinvigorate his career under coach Yeng Guiao.
Netizen Red Ferrer sees just that, and he's guaranteeing it.
"Sigurado babalik 'yung laro niya dahil si Coach Yeng ang may hawak sa kanya," Ferrer wrote.
Some other hoops aficionados can already see the upside as early as now.
"Kapag naibalik dating laro nito, panalo ROS dito," wrote Facebook user Reynold Randoy.
Another fan shared that he has been a long-time fan of Belo, specifically during his days with the FEU Tamaraws.
"Malaki magiging contribution nito kapag naisama talaga sa rotation ni Coach Yeng," said netizen Fabz.
This ROS fan emphasized how the length of Belo could help the team out.
"May laban na [sa] forward position," said Facebook user Daniel Xean. "May katulong na si [Leonard] Santillan."
Meanwhile, netizen Eddie Velasquez is already looking ahead to the upcoming 2023 PBA Draft. After the acquisition of Belo, he believes the team should now focus on legitimate big men.
"Sa draft, two power forwards ang dapat."
If there’s one thing for sure, Belo will definitely be an important piece for the Elasto Painters this new season.
