Back to his old stomping grounds.
Almost two years since leaving for Japan, Kiefer Ravena is back with the NLEX Road Warriors—but only for training.
In an Instagram story, NLEX star Kevin Alas shared a video of Ravena joining the Road Warriors’ training session on Tuesday.
The second overall pick in the 2017 PBA Draft was even wearing his former team’s practice jersey.
“Look who’s back @kieferravena15,” Alas wrote in his post.
Aside from joining the team’s training session, Ravena also gifted shoes to undrafted NLEX cager Dominick Fajardo, whose story is one to check out.
It’s unlikely that Ravena will soon return to the Road Warriors as the 6-foot-1 guard recently signed a new contract to stay with the Shiga Lakestars in the Japan B.League.
Ravena’s team, however, was relegated to Division 2 after a 14-46 record this season.
A PBA comeback, though, will be simpler as the league has eased its restrictions on local players who would like to return from an overseas stint. Also, the Road Warriors still have the signing rights of Ravena.
Perhaps a return is indeed in the cards? Only time will tell.
