Make those two wins in a row for the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters after taking down the NLEX Road Warriors, 113-101, at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

After starting 0-5 in the Commissioner’s Cup, the Elasto Painters made a change that may have saved their conference.

The introduction of Demetrius “Tree” Treadwell has seemingly brought the missing piece for Rain or Shine to secure victories against teams.

In their victory over the Road Warriors, Rain or Shine had to claw their way back from an early 11-point deficit.

The Elasto Painters then managed to pull away in the fourth behind Treadwell, Andrei Caracut, and the returning Keith Datu.

Treadwell finished with 23 points, 18 rebounds, four assists, a steal, and two blocks.

Beau Belga, meanwhile, had 14 points, Rey Nambatac and Caracut added 12 points apiece, while Datu had 11 markers.

In his third game for Yeng Guiao-led Elasto Painters, Treadwell has seemingly found his groove on offense.

“Coach (Yeng) has preached to me that he wants me to be aggressive. I don't feel like I really was the first two games,” Treadwell said during the post-game press conference.

“I feel like everybody knows a little bit more how I play, so as a team, everyone kinda gave me the ball and I just try to capitalize when I get it and score it and be efficient,” he added.

Guiao, meanwhile, is hoping that they can further develop their chemistry with their import as they hope to salvage their bad start in the conference.

“We're hoping that we blend even better with Tree,” said Guiao. “We understand more or less how he can complement the locals' game and how the locals can complement his game, so we should be getting better and it's good for us because we're just trying to keep ourselves in the conference.”

Rain or Shine will look to go for their third-straight win as they face the still-undefeated Magnolia Hotshots on December 16, Saturday in Cagayan de Oro.

NLEX, meanwhile, is hoping to secure a bounce-back win against the TNT Tropang Giga on December 13, Wednesday, still at the PhilSports Arena.
