Something to be excited about for the fans of the Purefoods franchise
Blackwater coach Jeff Cariaso is looking forward to making great strides with new Bossing James Yap.
Cariaso and Yap go a long way from their days with the Purefoods franchise in the early 2010s. The former used to be an assistant coach for Tim Cone.
Yap may be turning 42 years old in a few days, but he still brings much to the table.
That is why Cariaso is excited to team up again with the two-time PBA MVP and seven-time champion.
“Personally, I am looking forward to this reunion with James. I believe he has so much value that will contribute positively to the culture we are building,” Cariaso told One Sports in a text message.
Yap, who parted ways with Rain or Shine after seven years, is set to sign the contract with his third team in the PBA tomorrow.
"James Yap will officially sign with Blackwater tomorrow. That's the only detail I know," shared Cariaso.
Cariaso said he already talked with the concurrent San Juan City councilor about his impending role with the team led by Troy Rosario.
“We spoke today about his role and we both are on the same page regarding that. This is a great pickup for a team like ours as we will take full advantage of his value on and off the court,” he said.
Yap's arrival is definitely a jolt for the Bossing, who were mired in the cellar this conference with a 1-10 record.
