NLEX taps one-time Laker Ed Davis for PBA Commissioner’s Cup

While Ginebra and TNT continue to duke it out in the PBA Season 49 Governors’ Cup Finals, the rest of the league are already prepping for the upcoming Commissioner’s Cup.

Among them is NLEX, which tapped Ed Davis as import for the mid-season conference which is expected to begin late November.

The Road Warriors made the announcement on social media on Monday, Nov. 4.

 

“With his experience and leadership, we’re ready to elevate our game this conference,” the team wrote as caption.

Davis is indeed a seasoned player who boasts of an NBA stint with Toronto Raptors, Memphis Grizzlies, Los Angeles Lakers, Portland Trail Blazers, Brooklyn Nets, Utah Jazz, and Minnesota Timberwolves.

In the 2014-15 season, he averaged 8.3 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists playing 79 games for the Lakers. For his whole NBA career, Davis appeared in 722 games and started 106 of them, averaging 5.9 points and 6.4 rebounds.

 The 13th overall pick by the Raptors last suited up for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2021-22 season before setting on an overseas journey.
