The young spiker keeps getting better.
Ivy Lacsina is having a ball these days. In the very first game of the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers in the PVL Second All-Filipino Conference, the fast-rising outside hitter immediately tallied a new career-high.
It was an early gift for herself, as she celebrated her 23rd birthday last Saturday. Yes, Lacsina is only 23 years old. That's the scary part. Because for sure, she'll only get better on the court.
F2 Logistics skipper Aby Maraño celebrated Lacsina in her birthday greeting on her Instagram Story. Tyang Aby called Ibyang her "not-so-little sister."
"I love that you are able to handle situations with maturity and grace. Always proud of you, langga. Keep on blooming," said Maraño, who has taken Lacsina under her wing.
Lacsina's fellow outside hitter, Jolina dela Cruz, meanwhile, gave a sweet two-word reminder for the birthday girl.
"Got you, always," said dela Cruz.
Lacsina has always glowed with star potential. She helped the NU Lady Bulldogs win the UAAP title in Season 84, beating dela Cruz and the De La Salle Lady Spikers. She also has experience playing on the international stage with the national team.
While she's still finding her footing in the PVL, it probably won't take long for Ibyang. Plus, with teammates like Maraño and dela Cruz showering her with their full support, making the leap in the PVL will only be inevitable for Lacsina.
Lacsina and the rest of F2 Logistics will look to bounce back from their opening loss to the Akari Chargers when they take on new team Nxled Chameleons this Tuesday.
