Brian Castro and the Ateneo Blue Eagles have a chance of scoring a signature win.

The Blue Eagles seek to become the first team this UAAP Season 87 men’s volleyball tournament to beat the FEU Tamaraws as the two squads lock horns Sunday, March 2, starting 11:00 a.m. at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Following a win over UP last time out, Ateneo can build momentum towards the end of round one by stopping the still-undefeated Tamaraws.

Ken Batas and Jian Salrzon lit up the taraflex with a combined 34-point performance against UP, while Amil Pacino logged 15 markers in a game where the Katipunan-based squad dropped the opening set before taking the last three.

“Magandang learnings itong past three games namin kasi somehow pag pinagsama-sama yung sistema nung tatlo, sakto siya para sa preparation namin heading into the FEU game,” coach Vince Mangulabnan said.

However, a tall task awaits the Blue Eagles in facing a Tamaraws fresh from scoring their own signature win, as FEU is coming off a victory against four-time champion NU.
