The Choco Mucho Flying Titans are proving to be a dangerous team in the PVL Second All-Filipino Conference. That’s on the back of their dominating win over the Cignal HD Spikers on Thursday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
While the Flying Titans had their reliable spikers connecting during the match, it was libero Thang Ponce who shined the brightest in the victory after finishing with 17 excellent digs and three excellent receptions.
Ponce has been excellent in filling in the main libero role of Denden Lazaro-Revilla, who has seen minimal minutes so far this conference.
But even then, Lazaro-Revilla, a veteran who has earned a lot of success through the years, has had quite the impact already on the younger Ponce.
“Lagi akong nire-remind ni Ate Den na kaya mo 'yan. Nagtiwala na lang din ako sa sarili ko na kaya ko,” Ponce said during the postgame press conference.

Lazaro-Revilla’s leadership has likewise been transferred to Ponce, as she has grown more comfortable in being a vocal leader for the team, which unfortunately lost outside hitter Des Cheng to injury against the HD Spikers.
“Lagi ko silang nire-remind kapag mapapatayan kami (ng bola) ng Cignal, 'One stop lang tayo, kaya natin 'to and dahan-dahan lang.' Parang nagawa namin ngayon,” said the defensive standout from the Adamson Lady Falcons.
With performances like this from Ponce and the other members of Choco Mucho, this could be the breakout conference that the team has been waiting for under coach Dante Alinsunurin.
