Despite the departure of key players Jia de Guzman and Ced Domingo, the Creamline Cool Smashers have remained as lethal as ever.

On Thursday, the Cool Smashers cruised to a 25-23, 25-16, 25-21 win over the Nxled Chameleons in the PVL Second All-Filipino Conference.

Creamline had a flat start but regained composure in the succeeding frames to carve out its eighth win in as many games.

“Nag-focus lang kami ulit, (sinunod) kung anong merong sistema kami, binasa namin errors, at kinapitan talaga namin,” said Jema Galanza, who top-scored for the Cool Smashers with 13 points.

Indeed, Creamline looked more comfortable in the second set where the team led by as many as nine points.

The Chameleons did put up a fight in the third frame, but there was no stopping Galanza and the Cool Smashers. Creamline erased a 21-20 deficit before Galanza sealed the deal with back-to-back service aces.

Although the they hold the top spot with an immaculate record, the former Adamson Lady Falcon reminded the team to keep their feet on the ground.

“Lahat naman ng teams lumalaban so hindi kami puwede maging kumpiyansa,” she said. “Magfo-focus lang kami sa training, magpapakundisyon pa kami.”
