The Premier Volleyball League (PVL) has announced the postponement of all games scheduled for Thursday, July 25, due to the severe weather conditions brought by Typhoon Carina.

The Thursday triple-header was supposed to feature the Farm Fresh Foxies vs. PLDT High Speed Hitters, Creamline Cool Smashers vs. Nxled Chameleons, and Galeries Tower Highrisers vs. Chery Tiggo Crossovers.

The affected matches will be rescheduled for a later date, which will be announced as soon as possible. The PVL management is closely monitoring the weather situation and will provide updates to ensure minimal disruption to the conference’s schedule.

To accommodate the three suspended matches, potential options include scheduling quadruple-headers on certain game days or adding an extra game day.

According to the DOST-PAGASA, Typhoon Carina intensified as of 11 a.m. on July 24, 2024, and its winds reached up to 165 km/h as it approached Taiwan.

Currently located 345 km north-northeast of Itbayat, Batanes, Typhoon Carina is moving north-northwest at 15 km/h. The storm has strengthened, with maximum sustained winds of 165 km/h and gusts up to 205 km/h.

The typhoon is expected to land over northern Taiwan this evening, July 24, or early morning on July 25.

But even though Typhoon Carina is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Thursday morning, the cyclone is still forecast to steadily intensify. The enhanced Southwest Monsoon is still expected to bring rains on Thursday over the northern and western portion of Luzon--including Metro Manila.

Fans are encouraged to stay safe and dry during this period of rainy weather.
