The PLDT High Speed Hitters have looked dominant in their six games in the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference.

Sitting with a 5-1 record, the High Speed Hitters have secured their spot in the quarterfinals after dominating the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles in straight sets.

Middle blocker Majoy Baron, who was hailed the Player of the Game with 14 points, pointed out what worked for PLDT throughout the match.

“Siguro this game inenjoy lang talaga namin and nag-laro lang kami ng maayos, and [naging] consistent,” Baron said during the post-game press conference.

Missing out on the semifinals in the All-Filipino Conference due to match points, Baron knows that the High Speed Hitters have extra motivation to secure their spot this time around.

“Siguro extra motivation ‘yung kinapos kami last conference and lesson learned na rin, so this conference, we have to make sure na magiging mas matibay pa kami as a team,” said Baron.

Looking ahead to their next matches, the 28-year-old middle blocker is hoping that the High Speed Hitters can continue hitting their stride, which includes better endgame performances.

In their final two games, PLDT will face the Petro Gazz Angels and the Choco Mucho Flying Titans.

“For me, ‘yung consistency and ‘yung mga endgame. ‘Yun ‘yung kailangan namin pagtrabahuan kasi mabigat pa rin ‘yung makakalaban namin sa next games, so kailangan mas pulido pa ‘yung galaw namin,” said Baron.

Next up for PLDT will be Petro Gazz on Saturday, August 17, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
