The Cignal HD Spikers survive a late challenge from sister team PLDT High Speed Hitters to win the 2024 PVL Reinforced Conference bronze medal, 20-25, 25-19, 25-28, 25-23.
Elena Samoilenko erupted with 35 points for PLDT, but that was neutralized by MJ Perez's 26, Ces Molina's 20, and Glaudine Troncoso's 10.
By the last stretch of the fourth set, PLDT was on a roll and pushing towards a fifth set extension.
However, a head touch call--initially called in favor of PLDT--was contested by Molina. This eventually led to a referee challenge, and the call was overturned due to the replay.
Cignal then went on to score straight to secure the set, the match, and the bronze.
