The Creamline Cool Smashers will head into the qualifying round of the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference as the top seed after powering past the Galeries Tower Highrisers in straight sets, 25-15, 26-24, 25-19.
The Creamline Cool Smashers made a quick return to the win column after venting their ire on the Galeries Tower Highrisers in straight sets, 25-15, 26-24, 25-19, in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig on Thursday, February 20.
Coming off their first loss in the conference, Creamline made sure to bounce back in a big way as they faced the struggling Galeries Tower.
The Highrisers nearly pulled off a second-set victory after leading by as many as eight points at 19-11.
Galeries Tower even led 22-15, needing just three more points. However, the defending champions went on an 11-2 blast capped off by Alyssa Valdez’s cross-court kill to snatch the frame.
With momentum on their side, the Cool Smashers ran away with the third set after building a 14-6 lead courtesy of Tots Carlos and Pangs Panaga.
Pau Soriano would close the game out with an emphatic middle attack to seal the victory.
Valdez paced Creamline with 16 points built on 15 attacks and one block.
The win locks the Cool Smashers as the no. 1 seed heading into the qualifying round, where they will face either the Capital1 Solar Spikers or Nxled Chameleons.
