Coach Ettore Guidetti and the Nxled Chameleons will have the best chance at landing the top pick in the PVL Draft in June.
With Nxled's 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference campaign in the books, Italian coach Ettore Guidetti is shifting his focus to the upcoming PVL Draft in June.
The upcoming draft is expected to be a loaded one with several UAAP graduating from their respective schools.
However, the veteran tactician acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding the draft, particularly regarding the availability of standouts who may opt to play overseas instead of turning pro in the Philippines.
"The situation right now is a little bit shady. No one exactly knows how it will 100 percent work—how many of the university players we’ve taken a look at are gonna stay here or play abroad. So for sure, we’re selecting kind of a big range of players," Guidetti explained during the post-game press conference.
Last year, the Chameleons used the fifth overall pick in the inaugural PVL Draft to select Lucille Almonte, who played a key role for the team this season.

Now, with another opportunity to bolster their roster, Guidetti and the Chameleons will look to make strategic choices that align with their long-term vision.
"To be 100 percent honest with you, and not be a hypocrite, we are selecting basically a good player for every position," he admitted.
Guidetti highlighted several collegiate programs as prime sources of talent, citing top players from National University, De La Salle University, and Adamson University as potential fits for Nxled’s system.
"There are a bunch of very good players. If you’re watching NU’s graduating girls, if you watch La Salle, even Adamson, there are a few players that can really fit in our team. It’s about cherry-picking, it’s about strategy, and it’s about knowing who is going to play abroad," the Lady Falcons assistant coach said.

With some prospects talented enough to secure contracts in foreign leagues, Guidetti hopes to land the best available players while managing expectations.
"I hope that they all stay here, and I hope to take the best one. But I have to stay with my feet on the floor because dreaming is good, but too much is not that good,” Guidetti concluded.
