A woman for others: Roma Mae Doromal warms hearts with selfless act

It's easy to admire Ateneo Blue Eagles libero Roma Mae Doromal.

The 22-year-old is an exceptional athlete and a role model student for one of the top universities in the country. Doromal recently got her college diploma.

"The impossible is now possible. I always knew this day would come," Doromal said in an Instagram post after getting her Bachelor of Arts, Major in Communications degree.

The floor defense specialist has also proven her mental toughness.

After a disappointing UAAP Season 85 that saw Ateneo miss the Final Four for the first time in 15 years, Doromal took the heartbreak in stride.

"Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn," she said.

Now, Doromal is giving her fans more reasons to love her with another project that is close to her heart.

The young star launched the Roma Mae Doromal Volleyball Clinic, or RMD Volleyball Clinic to give back and share her blessings and learnings.

"As a way of giving back to aspiring young athletes, the RMD Clinic was inspired by Papa and Ate Joy who introduced volleyball to me at a young age. I was given the opportunity to play for a well-known university and was able to learn under talented coaches," she said.

"I want to keep sharing my talent and knowledge one clinic at a time and be an instrument to the new generation. Nothing is impossible as long as you put your heart into it. I want to be a woman for others."

Doromal jumpstarted her campaign in Barangay Caradio-an in Negros Occidental.

The local players are evidently happy with Doromal's gesture and the scenes from the clinic are heartwarming.

"My 10-year-old self is so proud to be able to give back to the athletes of your beloved city and I hope this clinic becomes an inspiration to every child who has the heart for the sport I dearly love: VOLLEYBALL."
