The UP Fighting Maroons are set to battle it out in the Final Four of the UAAP Season 86 men’s basketball tournament this Saturday.

Standing in UP’s way of another finals appearance? The Ateneo Blue Eagles, who recently demolished the Adamson Soaring Falcons to secure the last Final Four slot.

With another edition of the Battle of Katipunan set to unfold, the Fighting Maroons have been all out in their preparations before facing their bitter rivals.

Team captain CJ Cansino, for one, it seems has been working on his transition threes—something that he has been quite known for in the league.

On Instagram Story, Cansino posted a video of his workout for pull-up three-pointers on the break, while also showing how this move has translated during games.

Harold Alarcon, meanwhile, has taken a more existential approach ahead of their tussle against Ateneo.

On Instagram Story, Alarcon, who's rizz game has been going viral among UP fans, posted a photo of a quote that many athletes can relate to.

“Everything happens at the right time,” it read.

Indeed UP’s Final Four match versus Ateneo will be highly anticipated, especially given how they met in the past two UAAP finals. The two teams also split their games this season.

The top-seeded Fighting Maroons will have a twice-to-beat advantage over the Blue Eagles.
