Rookie Faida Bakanke is making strides for the FEU Lady Tamaraws in the UAAP Season 86 women's volleyball tournament.
Rookie Faida Bakanke is slowly but surely finding her mark for Far Eastern University in the UAAP Season 86 women's volleyball tournament.
After slow performances in the Lady Tamaraw's back-to-back losses versus UST and NU, Bakanke broke out for 14 points on 13 attacks and one block versus the Adamson Lady Falcons, her new career-high in the league.
Coming into the game, Bakanke bared the team's motivation to bounce back from their losses.
"We lost two games and this game, we said like we have determination, we say we [have to] come back strong this game, [and] also we [have to] do well," Bakanke said during the post-game press conference.
The Congolese opposite spiker, who showed off her prowess in FEU's preseason tournaments, continues to adjust to the UAAP style of competition.
But as she tries to find her footing in the league, Bakanke is already pleased with how she has been contributing to the Lady Tamaraws' success so far in the tournament.
"I'm very happy and also my performance before and now [is] better because coaches adjust for me and tell me the system," said Bakanke.
