UAAP schedule: UST-FEU battle banners pivotal week in men’s volleyball

As the UAAP Season 86 men's volleyball tournament enters its final three weeks of the elimination round, the pressure mounts for every team, making each upcoming game crucial in determining their fate in the competition.

Not only is the Final Four race heating up, but even the twice-to-beat advantage remains highly-contested among the top teams in the standings.

The third week of the second round in Season 86 will feature several key matches that could decide the Final Four placings.

April 9, 2024 (Tuesday)

Adamson vs. FEU (2:00 p.m.)

The Falcons, currently sitting with a 4-5 record, will look to keep their Final Four hopes alive with a huge game over the 8-1 Tamaraws.

FEU, however, is also eying to secure the top spot in the standings and a win over Adamson will move them closer to that.

 

De La Salle vs. UE (4:00 p.m.)

The Green Spikers aim to secure the third spot in the rankings as Season 86 winds down. 

The Red Warriors, on the other hand, are hoping to snatch their second win this season with a huge upset.

 

April 10, 2024 (Wednesday)

UST vs. UP (2:00 p.m.)

The Golden Spikers look to continue their good momentum as they face the Fighting Maroons, who have yet to score a win in Season 86.

A win for UST will improve its chances of making the Final Four, as Ateneo and Adamson breathe down the Tigers' necks.

 

Ateneo vs. NU (4:00 p.m.)

A crucial battle will ensue between the Blue Eagles and Bulldogs.

For Ateneo, a huge win over NU means that the team get to keep in step in the Final Four race, while a loss could see their hopes slowly fade.

The Bulldogs, meanwhile, want to keep up with FEU for the top spot of the standings. A loss could also place De La Salle in contention for a twice-to-beat advantage.

 

April 13, 2024 (Saturday)

Adamson vs. UP (2:00 p.m.)

The Falcons will continue their hunt for a Final Four slot as they go up against the Fighting Maroons.

As for UP, this game will be another opportunity for the Diliman-based squad to grab a win in the tournament.

 

FEU vs. UST (4:00 p.m.)

Many fans are expecting another juggernaut match between the Tamaraws and Golden Spikers—and for good reason.

In the first round, FEU and UST went the distance with the Tamaraws escaping with the win. But with a lot at stake, can the Golden Spikers take the win this time around? We’ll find out on Saturday.

 

April 14, 2024 (Sunday)

UE vs. Ateneo (2:00 p.m.)

The Blue Eagles will aim to keep their Final Four aspirations alive by securing a victory against the Red Warriors. This, of course, will also greatly depend on their performance in the upcoming match against NU.

UE, meanwhile, will try to play spoiler and add another win to its tally in Season 86.

 

De La Salle vs. NU (4:00 p.m.)

The Green Spikers are out for revenge after bowing to the Bulldogs in four sets during their first-round encounter.

De La Salle (6-3), who are just one game behind NU (8-2) in the loss column, will look to score a huge victory and boost its chances for a twice-to-beat advantage.
