The UP Fighting Maroons keep their record spotless as they fend off the UST Growling Tigers, 81-70, in the UAAP Season 87 Men's Basketball Tournament.
UST was able to keep the game close coming in the fourth quarter, until Francis Lopez and Harold Alarcon pushed UP's lead to double digits with over four minutes left in the game.
The Fighting Maroons' defense smothered the Tigers who were limited to just seven points in the last quarter.
UP is now 6-0 and will look to keep their record spotless when they face the DLSU Green Archers in their last game of the first round.
