The Adamson Soaring Falcons continued to make their case for the Final Four in UAAP Season 87 as they eliminated the NU Bulldogs from contention with a 53-41 win in their second round encounter at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday, November 10.

Improving to 5-7, the Soaring Falcons, who are now winners of back-to-back games, rise to solo 5th in the standings behind UST, who is currently at 6-7. NU, who have fallen to 4-9, is now out of the semis race.

The Soaring Falcons hit the ground running where they were ahead by 11 points, 18-7, at the end of the first quarter against the Bulldogs.

While NU would get back into the picture with a push in the third quarter, cutting the deficit to three with a PJ Palacielo bucket with 4:56 left in the period, a 13-3 run for Adamson changed the outcome of the ball game.

AJ Fransman tallied a career-high 18 points, to go along with 11 boards for a big double-double in the crucial win. He was the only Soaring Falcon in double-digit scoring.

Palacielo paced NU in the losing effort with 10 points, seven boards, and one steal.
