In an eight-game NBA Saturday showcase, Anthony Edwards capped off a jaw-dropping Minnesota Timberwolves comeback from 15 points down in the final five minutes. 

Meanwhile, the top three teams in the East in the Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics, and the New York Knicks all racked up wins. 


ANTHONY EDWARDS COMPLETES TIMBERWOLVES COMEBACK; CHAMPIONS CELTICS SNAP SKID 

  • Minnesota Timberwolves (16-14) def. Houston Rockets (21-10), 113-112: Trailing 108-93 with 4:19 seconds left, the Timberwolves rode a 20-4 finishing kick to stun the Rockets in Houston. 

  • Wolfpack Attack: Edwards drilled the go-ahead triple and finished with 24 points, Julius Randle added 27 more, and Minnesota now won back-to-back games after dropping their previous three. 

  • Boston Celtics (23-8) def. Indiana Pacers (15-17), 142-105: Jaylen Brown fired a season-high 44 points and the Celtics ended a two-game slide with a 37-point crushing of the Pacers.

  • San Antonio Spurs (16-15) def. Brooklyn Nets (12-19), 96-87: Victor Wembanyama  stuffed the stat sheet with 19 points, seven rebounds, six blocks, and four assists in guiding the Spurs past the Nets. 

  • Dallas Mavericks (20-11) def. Phoenix Suns (15-15), 98-89: In their first game since superstar Luka Doncic is expected to miss a month due to calf strain injury, the Mavericks overcame Kevin Durant’s 35 points and the Suns on the road.


CAVALIERS, KNICKS REMAIN HOT; HIGH-SCORING GRIZZLIES FLEX MIGHT 

  • New York Knicks (21-10) def. Orlando Magic (19-14), 108-85: Jalen Brunson scored 26 points and the surging Knicks won their sixth straight at the expense of the Magic.

  • Cleveland Cavaliers (27-4) def. Denver Nuggets (16-13), 149-135: Donovan Mitchell and the NBA-best Cavaliers recorded their highest scoring game this season in taking down the Nuggets to stretch their winning run to six games.

  • Memphis Grizzlies (22-10) def. New Orleans Pelicans (5-27), 132-124: The Grizzlies eclipsed the 130-point mark for the 10th time this season and went on to dismiss the lowly Pelicans. 

  • Los Angeles Clippers (17-13) def. Golden State Warriors (15-14), 102-92: The Clippers improved to 3-0 this season over the Warriors after pouncing on a Golden State squad missing Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.
