Raring for a bounce-back, the UE Red Warriors set sights on their first win in UAAP Season 87 with the UST Golden Spikers standing in their way.
After an opening day heartbreak, rookie Roy Piojo and UE are ready to move on.
The Red Warriors aim to avoid another end-game collapse in their 9:00 a.m. duel against the UST Golden Spikers in UAAP Season 87 men’s volleyball tournament, February 22, Saturday at the FilOil EcoOil Centre, San Juan, Manila.
UE came just two points away from a winning start this season before folding late against the Olayemi Raheem-led UP Fighting Maroons in the first five-setter in the men's division.
Piojo’s stellar 22-point UAAP debut was put to naught as Red Warriors also got a combined 29 markers from John Aligayon and Xjhann Camaymayan.
But UE are looking to capitalize on a wounded UST squad as reigning two-time MVP Josh Ybañez’ status for the Golden Spikers and the game remained unknown.
