Despite the setback, support continues to pour in for the team—both from within and beyond the current roster.

Former Blue Eagles and now PVL standouts Vanie Gandler and Roma Mae Doromal made sure to check in on their former teammate, visiting Tsunashima in the hospital after her recent freak injury.

The young outside hitter suffered a devastating broken left shin (tibia and fibula) in the fifth set of Ateneo’s opening game against the Adamson Lady Falcons, where she landed awkwardly from a block attempt.

With Tsunashima and Delos Santos confirmed to need surgery, Ateneo head coach Sergio Veloso has urged the Lady Eagles to keep fighting through the challenges.

Despite the blow to their roster, the team continues to battle on, showing resilience and heart in their recent three-set loss to defending champions NU Lady Bulldogs.

In a powerful display of unity, the Ateneo squad paid tribute to their fallen teammates by writing Tsunashima and Delos Santos’ names on their shoes, a symbol of their unwavering support and determination to push forward in the tournament.
