The Taft-based squad look to sustain their fiery form as they engage in an opening round tussle with rivals Ateneo Blue Eagles in the UAAP Season 87 men’s volleyball tournament, Wednesday, March 12, at the Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay.
La Salle dismantled the UE Red Warriors in its last outing to string their first winning streak of the tournament.
MJ Fortuna took the scoring cudgels behind his 13 points for the Green Spikers, who shared the fourth spot in the team standings with Ateneo at 3-2.
“Thankful lang kasi nung previous games medyo low ‘yung nilalaro ko. Thankful ako kala coach kasi binigyan pa rin nila ako ng chance na ipakita ‘yung potential ko,” Fortuna said in the post-game press conference.
For the first time this Season 87, power hitter Vince Maglinao cracked the double-digit scoring mark with 11 while Noel Kampton chipped eight markers.
