As a student athlete, navigating the dual demands of academics and athletics requires unwavering dedication and resilience. But Faith Nisperos lives up to her name.

With the support system from the Ateneo community, her passion for volleyball was ignited, lighting up her path to greatness.

Now, as a professional volleyball player for the Akari Chargers and a national athlete for the Alas Pilipinas, Faith looked back on her journey with her alma mater.

From a young skinny dreamer to a powerhouse on the court, the Ateneo de Davao University nurtured every step of the way of little Faith.

Even though she did not like it at first, her former university pushed her in the volleyball scene, and it has since become a part of her.

“WHERE IT ALL STARTED. Before I officially graduate today, I want to look back where it ALL started. It was at Ateneo de Davao University that I first learned the value of excellence. I give my best in all things I pursue while challenging myself to be better than my best. Eventually, I also found my love for volleyball on this very campus. I'm most grateful for Coach Lalay Samela for persuading my parents & me aggressively to pursue volleyball (yes napilitan lang talaga ako 😂),” she recalled on Instagram.

And, as they say, life has its own unexpected twists and turns.

Who would have guessed that the young Faith, who was timid and asthmatic, and believed “video game is life," would turn out to carve her name in the Philippine volleyball scene as Akari Chargers’ star and 2024 AVC Challenge Cup women’s bronze medalist?

“down from the hill, down to the world, go! magis, cura personalis, and being men and women for others. These Ignatian values will forever be my guiding light as I close this chapter of my life.thank you, Ateneo.🎓💙,” she added.

Congratulations, Faith!
