Kai Sotto returns to Japan for his second season with the Hiroshima Dragonflies a week after his stint with Gilas Pilipinas in the FIBA World Cup.

The Kaiju shared on Instagram his arrival to Japan with a picture of the Hiroshima Airport.

Sotto is set to play his first full season in the Japan B.League after suiting up for 24 games last season. The 7-foot-3 center averaged 8.9 points, 6 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game with an average of 19.1 minutes of action.

With Sotto's arrival in Japan, it's official that would not be able to play for the Philippines in the upcoming Asian Games. All Pinoy hoopers playing in Japan are not available with the Japan B.League season on the horizon. Kiefer Ravena, who was initially included in the Asian Games lineup, recently said that he might not make it.

With most of the players from the FIBA World Cup out for the Asiad, newly appointed coach Tim Cone said the "usual suspects" will be tapped. Justin Brownlee is expected to lead the team.

The Philippines will face Bahrain, Jordan, and Thailand in the group stages of the Asian Games. The national team will start its campaign against Bahrain on September 26.
