The Akari Chargers doused the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles for their second win in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference on Thursday, Nov. 13.
Akari continues its hot start in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference after fending off ZUS Coffee, 25-14, 25-21, 19-25, 25-23, at the FilOil EcoOil Arena in San Juan on Thursday, Nov. 14.
The Chargers bucked a third set defeat to hold off the new-look Thunderbelles that featured Jovelyn Gonzaga and No. 1 pick Thea Gagate.
Down 16-13 in the fourth set, Akari came back to take the lead behind a 5-1 run courtesy of Ivy Lacsina, who accounted for four points there.
ZUS Coffee countered to eventually tie the game at 23-all. But Faith Nisperos and Lacsina put the game away with back-to-back crosscourt kills.
