For all the highlights and accolades Brooke Van Sickle had earned throughout her volleyball career, one thing was always missing: a championship.

But that all changed during the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.

The Fil-Hawaiian spiker finally ended that wait, helping Petro Gazz capture its first-ever All-Filipino title.

“It's still surreal to have been able to make history and win the All-Filipino championship,” Van Sickle told One Sports. “When I think about the young version of myself, when I first started playing volleyball, I would have never guessed that I'd be here today, winning a championship in the Philippines.”

Van Sickle’s journey to this point has been nothing short of an adventure.

Over a year ago, she packed her bags and flew across the world to begin her pro career in Cyprus before finding herself in the Philippines with Petro Gazz.

It didn’t take long for her to show what she was capable of, making an immediate impact and bagging her second-straight All-Filipino MVP award early in her PVL career.

Yet, beyond the trophies and stat sheets, Van Sickle said the move has been about more than just volleyball.

“It's just so awesome to see how the sport can bring you to different places, meet new people, and open so many opportunities,” she said. “I love volleyball to death, and I don't know where I'd be or who I'd be without it.”

The 25-year-old admitted life in the Philippines has exceeded her expectations, both on and off the court.

“Everything’s starting to fall into place,” Van Sickle said. “I’m really happy with Petro Gazz, how our team’s becoming like a family, how we’re continuing to grow and learn from each other. I’m grateful where I live, the people I’m surrounded by, the good food — just the overall experience of life.”

Now a champion, Van Sickle says she’s exactly where she wants to be.

“I’m at peace. I would say this is like, peak life right now. Hopefully, it stays peak life.”
