Fifi Sharma, Alyssa Valdez, and Eya Laure don't just serve spikes and aces on the court but can also deliver the news as well as guest anchors for TV5's Frontline Pilipinas.
Reporting and volleyball? These PVL stars can do both.
We're used to seeing PVL stars serve aces in the volleyball court, but Akari’s Fifi Sharma, Creamline's Alyssa Valdez, and Eya Laure have shown they deliver the news as well, serving as guest anchors on TV5's primetime newscast Frontline Pilipinas.
Though reporting is a different ball game, these volleybelles embraced the challenge and owned every moment, proving their versatility and poise.
Akari Chargers' Fifi Sharma had a chance to live one of her dreams—becoming a news anchor. Though a bit nervous, she took it all in stride.
“Nakakakaba, sobra. Pero masaya po kasi first time ko pong gumawa ng ganito, sa live. So, kaya po sobrang nakakakaba siya. Actually, dream ko po. One of my dreams is to become an anchor,” she shared during the newscast when asked by anchor Julius Babao asked about her experience.
Alyssa Valdez of the Creamline Cool Smashers also showed why she's the Phenom by effortlessly delivering sports news.
At the end of her reporting stint, the Creamline star shared that she is a K-drama fan and revealed that Korean actor Song Joong-ki is her favorite, particularly in the context of K-pop vocalist Kim Myung-soo signing with a local record label.
And last but certainly not least, Eya Laure slayed her anchoring segment with the confidence and professionalism of a seasoned pro.
Watch how she does it here.
While Eya Laure is working out her contract issue with the Chery Tiggo Crossovers, the Alas Pilipinas star reassures that she will be back on the taraflex, answering with a firm “Opo naman” when anchor Cheryl Cosim asked if she will return soon.
Whether it’s serving up the perfect play or delivering the news, these PVL stars prove that their talents extend far beyond the volleyball court.
