Former Ateneo standout and Gilas Pilipinas veteran Kiefer Ravena has consistently demonstrated his unwavering support for both the Blue Eagles and the men’s national basketball team.
Despite his commitments with the Yokohama B.Corsairs in the 2024-25 Japan B.League season, Kiefer made sure to take full advantage of his break to cheer on the Ateneo Blue Eagles during their penultimate game in the UAAP Season 87 men’s basketball tournament at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion, bringing along his fiancée, Diana Mackey.
True to his Blue Eagle roots, Kiefer’s loyalty to his alma mater shines through as he continues to back his Katipunan-based squad.
“Nakakatuwa pa din. At least nakaabot ako ng isang game with our break from Japan. I’m excited to watch them for the first time in a long time. I can’t remember the last time I watched Ateneo. You know, through and through, I keep on supporting them, whatever the outcome is,” he shared.
Although the Ateneo Blue Eagles' hopes for the Final Four were dashed, they still played with determination, pulling off an impressive victory against the UE Red Warriors in their Round 2 clash of the UAAP Season 87 men’s basketball tournament.
Kiefer’s support extended beyond Ateneo, as he also expressed his full backing for the men’s national basketball team, who will soon compete in the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers against New Zealand and Hong Kong on November 21 and 24, respectively.
“I’m sure they’ll do their best. I am always a supporter—in game and behind the scenes. As long as they stay healthy, they can beat anybody. The players who will represent the Philippines in this coming window, I am not even worried about the efforts or the outcome that is going to happen, but more than anything, they will play their hearts out,” he said.
Kiefer Ravena’s dedication to his roots, whether with Ateneo or Gilas, remains a testament to his passion for Philippine basketball and his belief in the heart and talent of the teams he supports.
