Two months after suffering an ACL injury, Kai Sotto is progressing on his road to recovery by doing extra work.
Slowly but surely, Kai Sotto is putting the work.
The Gilas Pilipinas big man shared some update on his recovery from a season-ending ACL injury he sustained last January.
Sotto was seen doing reps on the leg press machine while engaging in some lower body exercises in his Instagram Story with a caption “slow grind.”
It was a good progress for the 22-year-old Filipino basketball star, who suffered the unfortunate injury in Koshigaya Alphas’ 79-77 loss to the SeaHorses Mikawa last January 5 in Japan B.League play.

That led Sotto to miss Gilas Pilipinas' outing in the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers February window, when the Philippines absorbed losses to Chinese Taipei and New Zealand.

Sotto has been one of the biggest factors to Gilas Pilipinas’ previous 4-0 start in the tournament, averaging a solid double-double of 15.5 rebounds and 12.5 rebounds in four games.
Earlier, Sotto underwent a successful surgery with his girlfriend Rere Madrid showing his support through a sweet message.
"I love you,” Madrid commented.

In Japan, the 7-foot-3 slotman was in the middle of his best season behind averages of 13.8 markers and 9.8 boards in 34 games for the Alphas before he went down.
Koshigaya is currently in the no. 6 spot in the Eastern Conference holding a 14-27 record.
