One played heavy minutes, the other just logged over nine.
Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus survived the Anyang KGC, 94-89, in Friday’s Korean Basketball League action in South Korea.
After taking a 14-point lead in the opening frame, Ulsan had to weather a pesky Anyang squad that kept coming back to try to snatch the win.
Filipino import RJ Abarrientos, however, helped seal the victory for Ulsan and shut the door on Anyang. The spitfire guard, who wore a mask at one point in the game to protect his injured nose, scored 18 markers and dished out 7 dimes in 34 minutes of play.
Anyang’s Filipino reinforcement Rhenz Abando, meanwhile, logged over 9 minutes and had 2 points.
Ulsan improves its win-loss record to 33-19, while Anyang now sports a 36-16 card. Even with the loss, Abando’s squad remains at the top of the KBL standings.
