It’s mostly the same names from their recent Pinatar Cup stint.
21 footballers will represent the country as the Philippine women’s national football team prepare for the Paris Olympics qualifiers starting April 5.
Captain Tahnai Annis, striker Sarina Bolden, and co-captain Hali Long banner a lineup that mostly features the footballers who competed in the Pinatar Cup in Spain last month.
The Filipinas, who recently jumped to No. 49 in the FIFA rankings, will travel to Tajikistan to face 161st-ranked Pakistan on the 5th of April. Three days after that, they will battle the No. 144 hosts. Finally, on April 11, the Filipinas will take on 79th-ranked Hong Kong.
Aside from midfielder Meryll Serrano and forward Chandler McDaniel, who is returning from injury, the footballers in this lineup recently took part in the aforementioned Spanish invitational, which may pose a familiarity and chemistry advantage for Team Philippines.
Katrina Guillou and Quinley Quezada join Bolden as the squad's forwards. Olivia McDaniel, Kiara Fontanilla, and Inna Palacios make up the goalkeepers list.
Maya Alcantara, Jessika Cowart, Malea Cesar, Sofia Harrison, Eva Madarang, Alicia Barker, and Reina Bonta join Long on defense.
Carleigh Frilles, Anicka Castañeda, Jaclyn Sawicki, Sara Eggesvik, meanwhile, will suit up as the midfielders alongside Serrano.
The FIFA Women's World Cup-bound Filipinas will seek to make more history as they attempt to be one of the squads going to Paris in 2024.
