Rachel Anne Daquis is now focused on her leadership role for the young Farm Fresh Foxies, vowing to play smarter. Meanwhile, Benson Bocboc and Trisha Tubu speak on the Foxies' fourth win in the PVL All-Filipino Conference
Rachel Anne Daquis made her long-awaited return to competitive volleyball after 551 days, providing veteran leadership as Farm Fresh Foxies secured a four-set victory over Galeries Tower Highrisers, 28-26, 17-25, 25-19, 25-17, in the PVL All-Filipino Conference on Thursday, January 30.
Though her playing time was limited, Daquis contributed one point off the bench in the first two sets and brought much-needed experience to the young Farm Fresh squad.
Coach Benson Bocboc said he was beyond grateful as the Foxies delivered the victory.
Embracing her role as a mentor, she vowed to play smarter rather than relying solely on power to guide her team.
"Para na ito sa mga bata," Daquis said. "Wala na akong hinahabol sa career ko."
Trisha Tubu powered Farm Fresh with a career-high 33 points, while Alyssa Bertolano added 11 markers.
Farm Fresh (4-4) faces PLDT on February 4, while Galeries Tower (1-7) looks to bounce back against Nxled on February 8.
