Already locked in at No. 5, the Meralco Bolts aim to close out the PBA Season 49 Commissioner's Cup eliminations on a high note when they take on the Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots on Friday, Jan. 31.

The match kicks off at 5pm at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.

At 7-4, Meralco has already secured its quarterfinal spot and will enter the playoffs without a twice-to-beat advantage, no thanks to their loss to the Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings.

However, the Bolts are not taking this game lightly, as they look to build momentum heading into the postseason.

With import Akil Mitchell anchoring the paint and key players Chris Newsome, Aaron Black, and Bong Quinto leading the attack, Meralco is poised to test Magnolia’s resolve as the Hotshots fight for their playoff lives.

Though the stakes may be lower for the Bolts, expect them to come out competitive and fine-tune their form before the crucial playoff battles ahead.
