It’s now a waiting game for Robert Bolick and the rest of NLEX as the PBA Season 49 Commissioner’s Cup elimination round nears its conclusion.
Robert Bolick emerged from the dugout like a wounded lion who slowly made its way out of a vicious battle he just won.
Bolick was still limping and was visibly still in pain after an awkward fall in the third period of NLEX’s 94-76 win over Eastern in the PBA Season 49 Commissioner’s Cup on Wednesday, January 29.
But Bolick allayed fears he sustained a serious left knee injury.
“Masakit. Namaga siya, pero gamot gamot lang,” said Bolick. “Nothing serious naman.”
Still, Bolick couldn’t help but be proud of his teammates who took care of the cudgels especially import Mike Watkins after he went down with the injury.

Watkins, after all, made his presence felt in the fourth period where he scored 17 of the team’s 29 points that set the tables up for the breakaway.
He wound up with 41 big points, 14 rebounds, two assists, and two blocks for the Road Warriors, who are assured of at least a playoff for the No. 8 spot with a 6-6 win-loss record.
Right now, all Bolick and the Road Warriors could do is pray for Magnolia to lose to Meralco on Friday, January 31 to gain an outright quarterfinal seat.
“Happy ako sa mga teammates ko, sa import namin, sa NLEX as a whole; hindi kami nag give up eh,” said Bolick, whose team was on the brink of elimination after stumbling to 3-6.
