Phoenix Fuel Masters star Ricci Rivero has officially joined the list of athletes who have tried being a broadcaster for TV5’s Frontline Pilipinas.

Following his campaign with the Fuel Masters in the PBA Season 49 Commissioner’s Cup, Rivero took on a new challenge—delivering the latest sports news on-air on Thursday, January 31.

His appearance marked a significant milestone, as he became the first PBA player to showcase his broadcasting skills on the news program, following the footsteps of volleyball stars Alyssa Valdez, Eya Laure, Fifi Sharma, and Faith Nisperos.

His agency, VP Global Management, shared behind-the-scenes clips of Rivero preparing his lines and presenting the news, giving fans a glimpse of his transition from the court to the newsroom.

While this was his first stint as a news presenter, the 26-year-old is no stranger to the limelight. Apart from his basketball career, Rivero has also dabbled in acting, appearing in films such as Otlum (2018), Happy Times (2021), and Day Zero (2022).

With his natural charisma and growing presence in the media industry, it remains to be seen if this is just the beginning of Rivero’s broadcasting career beyond basketball.
