Sports docuseries and shows to binge-watch during Holy Week break

Not everyone has the luxury to go on a week-long beach trip or overseas vacation this Holy Week break. For sure, a big chunk of the population will just stay at home and relax, or try to.

Since most of the sporting events are on a break (at least here in the Philippines), we listed down some sports shows to watch.

Losers

As the title implies, this Netflix docuseries is about "losers." In a world hell-bent on winning rings and titles, this anthology focuses on the other side of the spectrumthe often-disregarded losing stories. This series explores eight different stories and sports in well-crafted and well-produced storytelling that even non-fans could enjoy. After all, sports is nothing but medium to the message.

Last Chance U

Another Netflix series, Last Chance U and Last Chance U: Basketball offer a gripping take to the lives of collegiate football and basketball players outside of the limelight of national attention. The docuseries features talented but troubled athletes who need proper guidance and understanding in their bid to make it to the top.

Tiger

The only sports-biographical documentary in this list, HBO's Tiger deep dives into golf legend Tiger Woods' meteoric rise, his fall from grace, and inspiring comeback in a two-episode miniseries.

Bad Boys

It's not a documentary list without ESPN's 30 for 30. And the Bad Boys episode was handpicked for this list.

In an NBA where Magic Johnson's Los Angeles Lakers and Larry Bird's Boston Celtics ruled the league, the Detroit Pistons made their mark with a gritty and rugged stand en route to back-to-back titles in 1989 and 1990, earning the moniker, Bad Boys.

The 2014 documentary is just one of the many 30 for 30 episodes streaming on Disney+ PH.

Formula 1: Drive to Survive

This award-winning collaboration between Netflix and Formula 1 enthralled viewers in the behind the scenes of the racing world.

For those unfamiliar or uninterested in F1, this baptism to the sport will most likely convert one into a believer.
