While most national athletes are busy preparing for the upcoming Southeast Asian Games, Hidilyn Diaz is already setting her eyes towards the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Diaz posted on Instagram a video of her in Waseda University in Japan as she intensifies her preparations for the Asian Weightlifting Championship in May.

The 31-year-old Olympic gold medalist previously announced that she will not be participating the upcoming SEA Games as this will coincide with her participation in the said tilt, which will serve as a qualifying tournament for Paris.

The tourney is scheduled on May 3 to 13, and will take place in Jinju, South Korea.

It’s worth noting that Diaz’s weight class of 55 kilograms was abolished, leaving her to move up at 59 kilograms. That’s why Diaz is making sure that she’ll be ready in the new field.

All eyes will be on Diaz come May as Filipinos will definitely be hoping that she can qualify for the Olympics once more, and hopefully bring home another gold.
