Charge it to experience as the Philippine Women's National Football Team finished fourth in the Pinatar Cup.
The Philippine Women's National Football Team once again finished fourth in the four-team competition of the Pinatar Cup in Spain, after bowing to Slovenia, 1-0 on Thursday night.
The 44th ranked Slovenia picked up third place from the 38th ranked Philippines with Lana Golob's lone goal at the fifth minute.
In their opening match, the Filipinas ceded two goals from Scotland's Martha Thomas at the 22nd and 36th minutes.
The 25th ranked Scotland though fell to the 27th ranked Finland in the finals, as the Finnish team won the Pinatar Cup via penalties.
It was a better showing for the Philippines nonetheless, as the Mark Torcaso-helmed squad managed to limit ceded goals to no more than two in the Pinatar Cup.
Earlier, the Filipinas allowed four from Finland in an international friendly.
In last year's Pinatar Cup--part of the preparations for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup--the Philippines lost to Wales, 1-0; then bowed to Scotland, 2-1; before getting beaten by Iceland, 5-0.
