Jhazmin Joson will be heading to Australia after landing a deal with NBL1 outfit Goldfields Giants.
Following her stellar stint for Gilas Pilipinas Women, most recently in the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup 2024, Jhazmin Joson is signing with NBL1 team Goldfields Giants in Australia.
Joson’s agency, Titan Management Group, announced the development on Monday, April 1.
“Congratulations to Jhaz Joson for signing with NBL1 team Goldfields Giants, an NBL1 West club based in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. The Giants got a good one,” the announcement read.
In her final year for the Ateneo Blue Eagles in the UAAP, Joson showcased her versatility, maintaining an impressive average of 10.57 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 5.71 assists per game.
The 5-foot-7 guard has also been a consistent presence for Gilas, representing the Philippines in both 3×3 and traditional 5-on-5 formats.
Joson is the second Filipina hooper to join the NBL1 league, contributing to the growing Filipino influence in Australian basketball.
Already signed in Australia is Gilas Women teammate Jack Animam who recently signed with the Ringwood Hawks after her stint in China.
