Justin Gutang is staying in the KBL.

Gutang, the former St. Benilde and MPBL standout, signed with the Seoul Samsung Thunders, the team announced Wednesday, June 12.

This move comes after Gutang turned a free agent after two seasons with the Changwon LG Sakers. Carl Tamayo filled the Asian Quota spot for LG after his departure.

Among Gutang’s new teammates in Seoul is Korean star Lee Dae-sung, who returned to the KBL after one season in Japan’s B.League with the Seahorses Mikawa.

Gutang averaged 8.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.4 assists for LG last season, contributing to a Changwon team that finished as the no. 2 seed with a 36-18 record.

Unfortunately, LG lost in the semifinals to the Suwon KT Sonicboom.
