Larry Muyang isn’t going away scot-free after playing in another league while having a live contract with the Phoenix Fuel Masters in the PBA.

The league in its website said it is slapping Muyang with an indefinite ban.

“Banned ang status niya sa PBA,” commissioner Willie Marcial was quoted as saying.

This was after the 6-foot-6 big man played for Pampanga Giant Lanterns in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) even though he is still under contract with the PBA until May with the Fuel Masters.

On April 13, Marcial already met with Muyang at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium where Phoenix played against the Converge FiberXers.

“Humingi siya ng pasensiya. Pero sabi ko kahit ganun, may kontrata siya sa Phoenix so dapat i-honor niya yun,” said the league chief.

He could face legal issues should Phoenix decide to pursue a course of action against Muyang's breach of contract.
