Carl Tamayo followed up his career-high 37-point performance with another 31 points, this time in a close victory for Changwon over Javi Gomez de Liaño and the Anyang Red Boosters.
Carl Tamayo continued his stellar form in the Korean Basketball League (KBL), dropping 31 points to lead the Changwon LG Sakers to a hard-fought 86-82 victory over the Anyang Jung Kwan Jang Red Boosters on Saturday, January 11.
Tamayo stuffed the stat sheet with 31 points, eight rebounds, one assist, and two steals, following up on his career-high 37-point performance in a tough 88-92 loss to the Seoul Samsung Thunders just days earlier.
The 23-year-old Filipino forward showcased his versatility and composure, stepping up in crucial moments to secure Changwon’s 16th win of the season, improving the team's record to 16-13.
The matchup also highlighted a commendable effort from Javi Gomez de Liaño, who tallied 13 points, five rebounds, and one assist for the struggling Red Boosters.
Despite their efforts, Anyang fell to a dismal 7-22 record, continuing their woes this season.
With Tamayo’s recent surge, Changwon remains in the playoff picture and looks to build momentum as the season progresses.
Next up for Tamayo and the LG Sakers will be JD Cagulangan and the Suwon KT Sonicboom on Monday, January 13 at 6:00 p.m.
