Three Filipino fighters--Jean Claude Saclag, Marwin Quirante, and Islay Bomogao--were scheduled to compete in ONE Friday Fights 102. The event was cancelled due to the magnitude 7.7 earthquake.
ONE Championship has announced the cancellation of ONE Friday Fights 102, originally scheduled for Friday, March 28, at Bangkok's Lumpinee Boxing Stadium.
The decision follows a devastating 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck central Myanmar, with tremors felt across Thailand, including Bangkok.
The card was set to feature three undefeated Filipino fighters: Jean Claude Saclag in a flyweight MMA bout against Shazada Ataev, Marwin Quirante facing Treopchi Dongak in a strawweight MMA fight, and Islay Bomogao taking on Spain's Nerea Rubio in a Muay Thai contest.
The earthquake's impact was severe, causing the collapse of a high-rise under construction in Bangkok, resulting in at least two fatalities and numerous injuries. Rescue operations are ongoing, with many feared trapped under the debris, according to the Associated Press.
ONE Championship has yet to announce the rescheduling of the event or provide further details on future plans.
"Our thoughts are with everyone affected," ONE Championship Philippines posted.
