Patriot and Champion: Carlos Yulo proudly joins the Philippine Navy Reserves

Caloy’s mission is far from over. 

As the first male Olympic gold medalist in our nation’s history and a proud winner of two gold medals from Paris 2024, he stands as a shining example for aspiring young gymnasts. 

Carlos Yulo deepens his commitment to the Philippines by joining the Philippine Navy Reserves.

According to the Naval Public Affairs Office, Yulo was welcomed into the Philippine Navy Reserve Force with the rank of Petty Officer First Class.

The esteemed two-time Olympic gold medalist took his oath during a ceremony held at the Philippine Navy Headquarters on October 1st, presided over by Vice Admiral Toribio D. Adaci, the Flag Officer in Command of the Philippine Navy, and represented by Major General Joseph Ferrous S. Cuison, Commander of the Naval Reserve Command.

“The Naval Reserve Command deeply appreciated Yulo's volunteerism and commitment to national service. His decision to join the reserve force reflects a desire to give back to the nation and inspire the youth to pursue both athletic excellence and a sense of duty to the country,” the Naval Reserve Command wrote.

With this new role, Carlos Yulo reinforces his unwavering dedication to our country, embodying the spirit of service and patriotism.
