When it rains, ir certainly pours.

The Elasto Painters extended their league-best streak to five, frustrating TNT by way of a 119-112 win in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Friday at the Big Dome.

ROS improved to 5-5, breaking the tie with the Tropang Giga for solo 7th in the playoff picture.

Down 104-106 with 3:49 left, Rain or Shine used an 11-0 run in three minutes of game time to fully take over, getting timely points as TNT slowly unraveled, with Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson getting a late technical for contesting a foul call, and his injured brother Rondae figuring in a bit of a commotion with the Elasto Painters bench.

Nevertheless, Rain or Shine made no mistakes from its free throws down the stretch, completing the victory.

Tree Treadwell had a strong 25 points and 24 rebounds for the Elasto Painters, leading five players in double figures. Andre Caracut was the team's top local with 23 points, while Rey Nambatac contributed 19 for a solid showing.

Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson, making his PBA debut in place of his injured younger brother, score 50 points on top of 16 rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Calvin Oftana had 37, but no other Tropang Giga cracked double digits as TNT lost its third straight.
